Your Experience at Camp
The Youth Ballroom Dance Camp began in 1989 at Brigham Young University and offers an exciting four days of dancing, socializing, and performing. Come to make new friends and enjoy dancing with the US National Championship Ballroom Dance Company!
Benefits
- Learn from internationally acclaimed BYU Company directors and team members
- Participants are grouped by four skill levels: Beginning, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced
- Experience up to 20 hours of training in a variety of dances
- Attend a closing banquet and participant showcase where each participant performs what he or she has learned, followed by a BYU Ballroom Dance Company performance
- Enjoy evening activities such as, a trip to a local water park, dance party, pizza and ice cream, counselor games, crafts, and exploring BYU’s beautiful campus and museums
- Receive a camp T-shirt
Closing Banquet and Showcase
The camp concludes on Friday evening with a banquet and dance showcase. Participants will perform what they have learned during the camp for their peers, families, and friends! The evening includes a catered dinner (camp participants only), a slide show of candid shots taken during the camp, performances by dance participants, and instructors. Those attending the dance showcase who need special assistance and/or seating should contact our office two weeks in advance with their request. Spectators will not be allowed in the room until a specified time that will be listed on the camp schedule and handed out at camp check-in; therefore, guests should be prepared to stand in line for a short time. Due to fire code restrictions, no personal seats of any kind (besides those medically necessary) will be allowed in the room.
